Terms of Service

Plain-English summary

• Use Sidebot to do useful things — automate your own browsing, summarize pages, do research.
• Don't use it for fraud, automated abuse of other sites, or anything illegal in your country.
• You're responsible for what you tell Sidebot to do. If a site bans you for automation, that's on you.
• We're a small team building this. Don't sue us into oblivion. Email us if something breaks.

1. Service description

Sidebot is an AI browser assistant available as a Chrome / Edge extension. It connects to AI providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic) and can read web pages, fill forms, click elements, and chat with you. Use of Sidebot also means use of the chosen AI provider, subject to their terms.

2. Account & eligibility

You must be 18 or older (or your local age of majority). You must use a working email and not impersonate anyone. We block known disposable email domains and rate-limit signup per IP. One person, one account.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use Sidebot to:

• Send unsolicited messages, spam, or harassing content via any tool
• Automate access to sites in violation of their terms (e.g. ticket scalping, ad-fraud, credential stuffing)
• Generate content that infringes intellectual property, defames, or harms others
• Probe, scan, or interfere with our infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer or rebrand the extension
• Use a single Pro plan across more than one human user

We block payment, banking, gambling, and adult-content sites from automation by default. This is enforced both client- and server-side.

4. Plans & payment

Free plan: limited messages per 5-hour and 24-hour window, BYOK (bring your own AI provider key). Pro plan: $14.99/month or $129/year, billed via Stripe. Pro includes a managed AI key (no setup) up to a fair-use cap of 10 million tokens per month — beyond which we may pause the account, ask you to switch to BYOK, or upgrade your plan. Cancel any time in Settings → Manage subscription. No refunds for partial months unless legally required.

5. Your content

You own your conversations and any content you provide. By submitting content you grant us the limited license needed to operate the service (store, display in your panel, route to your chosen AI provider, render on your share links). We do not use your content to train models, and we never sell it.

6. Disclaimers

Sidebot uses AI which can be wrong, biased, or hallucinate facts. Always verify important information. We provide the service "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for actions you direct Sidebot to perform on third-party websites — including but not limited to purchases, posts, or account changes.

7. Termination

You can delete your account anytime. We can suspend accounts for terms violations or non-payment, with a reasonable opportunity to cure where appropriate.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes get an in-app notice 7+ days before they take effect.
